Mama's Brownies

Andy was in the shop for a while not long ago, on his knees as though in twisted prayer, head firmly wedged behind the Rosita. Upon parting, he gifted me with this, the most sturdy of vintage box cameras. I’m not sure why I have inherited it but can only assume I have entered into some kind of pact with his unquiet god. That being the case, I see no reason to not source film for the thing and capture some souls.

Detector IV

A certain Phil Stocker dropped by the shop last week, just in time for golden hour and caught the Rosita at her finest. There were also a couple of snaps of books and some stupid speakers made by Grundig in 1952. No one’s ever been crazy enough to attempt the like since and few have captured them with such phenomenal grain.

Cryptonita

The new part arrived late last week and is currently being fitted by Andy The Technomancer as I type this. Much in the same way that a piano being tuned or bells being hung are fascinating processes to watch, this is simultaneously arcane and voyeuristic. As for the Rosita, she is lain disembowelled about the listening room floor.

Them Wizard Feels

Joy Division is always a band I have to be in the mood for. I need to gear myself up and don the appropriate armour prior to submersion. It’s not always an easy thing to do and I suspect I’m not the only one.

Carbon Voodoo

It’s decent sci-fi and I was happy to escape there for a bit. If anything, it’s proof that my Neuromantic pill of choice is and may always have been the new black.
