Water Bully

Bully’s first album, ’Feels Like’ will cut you at volume. Album opener, ‘I Remember’ sets it out like so, with tight, dry drums, punk rock guitars, a mildly psychotic baseline and vocals that…female Kurt? All I can say, is that despite how long it took to finally get a copy into my eager, moist paws, I am very glad to have it with me now. It’s really personal and Alicia Bognanno gets real fast.

Lizard Rising

We should definitely talk about Johnny Marr. It should pretty evident to anyone who saw that set on Saturday, that Marr is the performer we all deserve and he behaves like it too, which is nice. Bullshit is not a compulsory component for ‘This Charming Man’ and it wasn’t present at Glastonbury.

The 7th State

I’ve always said that science fiction is special because it’s about humanity. It is the relief into which we might throw, write and study our own natures that, quite often to our detriment, remain largely unchanged over time. This season of Black Mirror is exactly that. In it, we see ourselves reflected and it does not always make for a comfortable experience.

Popgate

We are going to see Nirvana play at Reading tonight. We shall be at The Institute in East London, in 2019 at a secret cinema type thing that The Lady Ess found and convinced me to attend in less time than it took to finish her sentence. Also, one third of ticket profits go to the Campaign Against Living Miserably in honour of you know who.

Them Wizard Feels

Joy Division is always a band I have to be in the mood for. I need to gear myself up and don the appropriate armour prior to submersion. It’s not always an easy thing to do and I suspect I’m not the only one.
