Salutations.

Welcome to our awkward corner of teh interwebs. If you have any interest whatsoever in music, film, fiction, photography, video games - whatever - then we should get along just fine. And If you can't behave.. be very, very clever.

Wed Ted R'demption

Wed Ted R'demption

‘The Teds’ by Chris Steele-Perkins and Richard Smith (Travelling Light / Exit, 1979) is exactly what it sounds like, no doubt assisted by the former photographer’s hard-as-nails surname; the original, self-styled teen rebels of the 1950s, Teddy boys & girls (Tedettes, if you will) who were the common spiritual ancestor of both mods & rockers, along with everything that suggests. A bit like Lucy.

Much of old England with a pub on every corner features in delectable, high contrast b&w

The documentation - charting of the Ted’s continued and ever more violent existence into the 60s and 70s - is just as full of character, time and place as the photos themselves and the photos are excellent. Much of old England with a pub on every corner features in delectable, high contrast b&w; from The Castle on Old Kent Road, The Winchester in Elephant & Castle and The George in Hammersmith, all the way to Pickett’s Lock, Edmonton. Come farewell, it’s easy to see how the culture eventually coalesced into the punk scene of the 1980s and if we take away anything, it’s that music perhaps used to mean more. Excuse me while I go and mullion (that is the word I wanted) my hair into a DA.

this is a fairly solid body of work from the last surviving member of Sun Records’ Million Dollar Quartet

For reasons that may become rapidly apparent, I was forced to buy this compilation, featuring no less than twenty original hit recordings by Mr Lewis. ‘Great Balls of Fire’ (Hallmark, 1989) has pretty much everything you need right off the bat, should you be researching that particular piano thing, the like of which kills on his 1964 live album, ‘Live at The Star Club, Hamburg’. That album is seminal [there’s actually a copy in the post], it’s just…not necessarily a redeeming piece of music should you have married your thirteen year old cousin? Possibly while still married to your second wife? I mean, it’s a really wild record and maybe you just call yourself Bird Man and people forget. I have no idea how that happens (let’s just say it was the 50s) but as compilations go, this is a fairly solid body of work from the last surviving member of Sun Records’ Million Dollar Quartet and I’m playing it as we speak.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is an epic tale of outlaw life that seamlessly blends story with action, and exploration with choice - all under the constant threat of danger.
I’m not sure how much more I can say about this until it’s in my cold, deadeye hands

There is another trailer out from those monsters at Rockstar for their Cowboy Dreams Simulator 2018, ‘RDR2’. It’s actually been out for a few days now but I’m still watching it. Again. I’m not sure how much more I can say about this until it’s in my cold, deadeye hands so I shall most likely have just posted it above these meagre words and you can indeed go back and revel in all its glory as much as it pleases you.

I am led to believe that I may choose whether to have my shirt tucked in or out of my pants and that sometimes those pants may be muddy. In addition to this, there are many hats and also Colt single actions with which to shoot those hats off a mother fucker’s head.

I feel like twenty days is just enough time to develop a stomach ulcer.
